Coffee Beans Spill

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe- Misty Valley

Producer, exporter and developer Abdullah Bagersh ensures that Misty Valley’s ripe cherries are subject to superior care from start to finish. Through the first 48 hours, the coffee beans are constantly turned to provide even evaporation. This process provides consistency and cleanliness, which is often difficult to accomplish in the Gedio region of Ethiopia. The resulting flavor reminds tastes of blueberry muffins.

- Blueberry, chocolate, strawberry, floral, clean, consistent, balanced, bright lemony sweetness.

- This coffee does not make a good cup of espresso, but lightly roasted, steeped in fresh hot water, this coffee can at times be sweet to the palate.

- We think of this coffee as toasted more than roasted.

- It is by far the favorite coffee bean in our house.

Latte On Wooden Table

- Cherry, with medium acidity

- A bold body

- Above average sweetness

With over 100 years of experience, the struggle for sustainability and social function has been the Magana-Menendez family’s main focus, and this attention to detail helps produce their high-quality coffees and preserve the coffee’s ecosystem with the Rainforest Alliance.

Barista Preparing Latte

Sumatra

- A medium bodied cup with bright acidity and the typical “clay” earthiness that marks the region.

- Complexity is refined with notes of orchid and orange and barest grapefruit.

- Pleasingly light in the mouth but not insubstantial, with very light aftertaste.

- We love the French roast with this coffee, and then making a lovely espresso shot with this coffee.

- It blends perfectly with steamed milk to make an amazing Cortado.

In addition to coming from an ideal coffee-growing environment, this bean cultivates in one of the world’s most ancient ecosystems. In fact, its namesake is the result of a language barrier in the culturally-diverse climate.
